Snail Farming Helix aspersa in Romania - Heliciculture offered by S.C. ProHelix S.R.L.

     Set up in 2005 S.C. ProHelix S.R.L. is a romanian private company which councilies and keeps a close check on the activity of more than 30 snail farms.

     The unitholders are:
Nica Dragoş - biotechnolog engineer, heliciculture Ph.D.
Laszlo Attila - veterinary
Ciocan Daniela Ioana - human engineer

      Our main branch is business consultancy and management. Now the purpose of our activity is to adapt the snail rearing know-how to romanian economic conditions. As a result we offer a wide variety of services in order to ensure farm proper management as:

all snail farming technology implementation: outdoor snail farms, closed systems (such as plastic tunnel houses, "greenhouses", buildings with a controlled climate) and the combined technology
specialized consultancy during the farm start and maintenance
snail rearing personalized solutions depending on the local climate and market
online assistance from ProHelix staff via electronic mail
organize snail farm tours in agroturistic regim

Also in October 2006 willing to support the farmers due to the lack of experience and practic data from our country, we set up the Romanian Snail Farmers Association - RomHelix, which proposes itself to support the development of the snail farming in Romania, to consolidate the role played by the farmers from Romania on a European level, and to promote snail meat processed products on the Romanian as well as on the world market.
